About Us

The RE Policy Unit is a strategic partnership between the National Association of Teachers of RE (NATRE), the Religious Education Council (REC) and RE Today as three key stakeholders with a shared interest in public relations activity in support of in religious education (RE) in schools.

The RE Policy Unit has three objectives agreed in our memorandum of understanding:

  1. To enhance public understanding of RE and its value to young people and wider society
  2. To raise the status of RE with Heads, Senior Leaders and School Governors
  3. To influence the development of public policy to encourage and support high quality RE
